Welcome to Librar.ai. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Librar.ai mobile application and website at https://librarai.app (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Librar.ai ("we," "our," or "us").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the European Economic Area) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You may register using your email address or through third-party authentication providers (Google or Apple Sign-In). You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • Maintain the security of your password and account credentials.
  • Promptly update your information if it changes.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Use of the Service

4.1 Permitted Use

The Service is designed for personal, non-commercial use. You may use the Service to:

  • Track your reading progress and manage your personal book library.
  • Discover books through search, browsing, and AI-powered recommendations.
  • Share posts, reviews, ratings, and comments with the community.
  • Follow other readers and engage with their content.
  • Set and track reading goals.

4.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Post content that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or our systems.
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or collect data from the Service without our prior written consent.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
  • Upload viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
  • Circumvent any security features, rate limits, or access controls of the Service.
  • Use the Service to send spam, unsolicited messages, or promotional materials.
  • Create multiple accounts for abusive purposes.

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create and share through the Service ("User Content"), including posts, reviews, comments, ratings, and profile information. By posting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, and display your User Content in connection with operating and providing the Service.

5.2 Content Standards

User Content must comply with these Terms and our community standards. We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms, without prior notice.

5.3 Content Moderation

We may review, monitor, and moderate User Content to ensure compliance with these Terms. We are not obligated to monitor all User Content but reserve the right to do so.

6. AI-Powered Features

6.1 AI Recommendations

The Service uses artificial intelligence, powered by Anthropic's Claude API, to provide personalized book recommendations and other AI-driven features. You acknowledge that:

  • AI recommendations are generated based on your reading history, ratings, and preferences.
  • AI-generated content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.
  • AI recommendations may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs.
  • We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or relevance of AI-generated recommendations.

6.2 AI Data Processing

When using AI features, your reading data (including book titles, ratings, reviews, and reading patterns) may be processed by our AI service provider (Anthropic) to generate personalized recommendations. This processing is subject to our Privacy Policy.

6.3 AI Conversational Assistant

Our AI-powered book discovery assistant is designed to help you find books. The assistant may occasionally provide incorrect information. Always verify book details independently.

7. Book Data and Third-Party Content

7.1 Book Information

Book metadata, cover images, descriptions, and related information displayed in the Service are sourced from various third-party databases and publishers. We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee the completeness or correctness of this information.

7.2 Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party services.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, functionality, code, and branding (excluding User Content), is owned by Librar.ai and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written consent.

8.2 Trademarks

"Librar.ai" and our logo are trademarks of Librar.ai. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.

9. Account Suspension and Termination

9.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your account will be deactivated and your personal data will be anonymized after a 30-day recovery period. During this period, you may restore your account.

9.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account, without prior notice, if:

  • You violate these Terms or any applicable laws.
  • Your account is flagged for suspicious or abusive activity.
  • We are required to do so by law or regulation.
  • We reasonably believe your account poses a security risk.

9.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including, but not limited to, intellectual property provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability).

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LIBRAR.AI AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE) THE SERVICE.
  • ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE.
  • ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE, INCLUDING AI-GENERATED RECOMMENDATIONS.
  • UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Librar.ai and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kocaeli, Türkiye.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Librar.ai regarding the use of the Service.
